About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and commercially savvy Project Cost Accountant to join our team. Working alongside Project Managers, you will provide accurate project cost analysis, forecasting, and reporting, ensuring financial transparency and supporting informed decision-making across projects.

Key Responsibilities

- Collaborate with Project Managers to monitor and manage project budgets.

- Analyse project costs, identify variances, and provide actionable insights.

- Prepare regular forecasts and financial reports on project performance.

- Ensure accurate recording of project-related costs in the accounting system.

- Assist in month-end and project close processes.

- Support Project Managers in financial decision-making and risk management.

Key Performance Indicators

- Accuracy of Forecasts: Minimal variance between projected and actual project costs.

- Timeliness of Reporting: Project cost reports and forecasts submitted on time.

- Cost Control: Identification and reporting of cost overruns, savings opportunities, and mitigation strategies.

- Collaboration & Support: Positive feedback from Project Managers on support and responsiveness.

- Process Compliance: Consistent adherence to internal processes for all project financial actions.

- Data Integrity: Accurate and up-to-date project cost records and financial entries.

Qualifications & Experience

Qualifications:

- Tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.





- CPA or CA qualification (or working toward certification) preferred.

Experience:

- 3–5+ years’ experience in project accounting, management accounting, or a similar role.

- Experience in construction, engineering, or project-based environments preferred.

- Solid experience in financial reporting, forecasting, and cost control.

- Experience working closely with operational or project delivery teams.
