Are you an experienced maintenance or asset planning professional looking to make a real impact in a critical infrastructure environment? We are seeking a Lead Long Term Asset Planner to drive the development of long-term maintenance and overhaul strategies that maximise asset reliability, availability and performance. In this highly influential role, you will be responsible for ensuring asset lifecycle requirements are translated into well-defined work scopes, robust plans and successful overhaul outcomes.
Working closely with Engineering, Asset Management, Operations and Maintenance teams, you will play a key role in driving overhaul readiness, coordinating major maintenance activities and improving planning processes across the business. This is an opportunity to work in a complex industrial environment where your expertise will directly contribute to operational excellence, cost optimisation and the protected delivery of critical maintenance programs.
Duties will include but are not limited to:
- Lead the development and management of long-term overhaul and outage plans.
- Ensure overhaul work scopes are accurately developed, maintained and captured within SAP.
- Undertake regular site travel and provide onsite support to ensure effective planning, stakeholder engagement and successful delivery of overhaul and maintenance activities.
- Coordinate scope review meetings and manage forward-look planning activities.
- Partner with Engineering and Asset Management teams to align maintenance strategies with asset lifecycle requirements.
- Drive overhaul readiness activities from initial planning through to execution.
- Develop and maintain overhaul strategies, cost forecasts, budgets and resource requirements.
- Support planning, scheduling, coordination and monitoring of major maintenance and overhaul work.
- Ensure accurate transfer of planning data into schedules and associated systems.
- Identify opportunities to optimise costs, resources and planning outcomes.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across planning, scheduling and overhaul management frameworks.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders across site operations, maintenance and engineering teams.
- Provide support during planned and unplanned outage events as required.

About You
To be successful in this role you will have the following skills and experience:
- Relevant Trade Qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation or Maintenance disciplines and/or a Degree in Engineering.
- Demonstrated experience planning and coordinating maintenance activities within power generation, energy, resources, utilities, manufacturing, mining or other heavy industrial environments.
- Experience working within a commercial operating environment where safety, reliability and cost performance are key drivers.
- A minimum of five years' experience within the energy generation sector will be highly regarded.
- Experience supporting major outages, shutdowns,
turnarounds or asset overhauls.
- Intermediate to advanced SAP experience.
- Strong understanding of asset management, maintenance planning and lifecycle management principles.
- Proven ability to develop work scopes, forecast costs and manage competing priorities.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across technical and operational teams.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills.
- High attention to detail and the ability to deliver outcomes within tight timeframes.
- A continuous improvement mindset focused on improving planning processes and business performance.
- Graduate Certificate in Maintenance Management, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project and AP-Networks NaviTrack experience will be highly regarded.
