About the Role
We’re seeking an experienced and relationship‑focused clinical leader to oversee our Oncology Services at Burnside Hospital, located at our Toorak Gardens site. This full‑time or negotiated part‑time (0.8+ FTE) role is central to delivering safe, contemporary and patient‑centred oncology care within the Brian Fricker Oncology Centre. Reporting to the Associate Director Inpatient Services & Corporate Nursing, you’ll lead a dedicated multidisciplinary team and provide hands‑on oversight of chemotherapy services, high‑risk medication management, clinical governance, patient flow and service coordination. Recent senior oncology nursing experience, including demonstrated capability in chemotherapy services, skill‑mix management, patient acuity assessment and patient flow coordination, is essential for success in this role.
You’ll play a key role in strengthening oncology protocols, enhancing care pathways, supporting clinical trials activity with protocol development, and ensuring compliance with NSQHS Accreditation, medication safety and oncology standards. This role also has a strong collaborative component, working closely with Oncologists, Breast Care Nurses, inpatient wards and broader multidisciplinary teams to support seamless care across the cancer continuum.
