The Role

This is a great opportunity for a full time Gardener to carry out established horticultural work practices and procedures on mecwacare’s residential aged care facilities, assisted living and retirement communities. Reporting to the Gardening Services Coordinator, the Gardener is responsible for maintaining the gardens and ensuring they are well presented at all times.

What you bring

- Minimum 2 years’ experience in garden maintenance services with aged care or retirement community experience.
- Demonstrated experience in lawn care, perennials, shrubs, trees, pruning and hedging
- Management of soil health, weeds, pests and diseases
- Some landscaping experience is preferred
- Have experience in towing a trailer
- Safe use of hand and power tools
- Good teamwork and interpersonal skills, with a friendly, positive attitude
- Hard working, reliable, punctual
- Highly developed oral and written communication skills, including report writing
- Australia’s driver’s license

Desirable Criteria

- Commercial sector experience
- Qualification in Horticulture
