About the Company

Indiqator builds the software behind car dealerships across Australia and New Zealand, from OEMs and national franchise groups to single-site independents. Our products span the full customer journey: retail websites, inventory distribution, lead management, finance, dealer management, and service retention. Part of the Vela APX group within Constellation Software, we combine a 30 year local track record with the backing of a global software owner. We are a small, capable team that owns real problems end to end and gives people the room to solve them well.

About the Position

Behind our retention platform sits a large body of vehicle, pricing and servicing data across 13 manufacturer brands, and all of it has to stay accurate and current. Today that is careful, manual work, and that is where you will start too.

The early part of the role is hands-on and repetitive by design. You learn the catalogues by doing the work, because the best automations come from someone who has done the job first. From there, we are changing how that work gets done, and this role is where a lot of it gets built.

This is an automation-led catalogue role. You will own a set of OEM service catalogues, and you will build the AI-driven automations that source, transform, validate and publish the data behind them. It is not a data-entry role with automation bolted on. Your job is to know what good service catalogue data looks like, build the tooling that gets you there, and handle the exceptions automation cannot.

We need automotive catalogue depth and the drive to automate it in the same person. That is a rare combination, which is exactly why the role exists.

Key Responsibilities

- Own an assigned set of automotive OEM service catalogues end to end: accuracy, completeness and currency

- Interpret manufacturer technical data (maintenance schedules, labour times, parts and fluids) and decide how it should be represented

- Design, build, test and run automations that source, transform, validate and publish catalogue data

- Use AI and agentic tools to build solutions, applying your own judgement to validate and refine what they produce

- Encode data-quality rules so quality is checked automatically rather than by eye

- Work the edge cases, ambiguous data and exceptions that automation gets wrong

- Where capacity allows, help other teams across the business find and build automations of their own

What We Are Looking For

You will not tick every box below, and that is fine. What is not negotiable is strong domain judgement and a genuine appetite to build.

- Automotive industry experience as a technical analyst or catalogue builder, or from a franchised dealer, OEM or third-party catalogue provider. Qualified mechanics, service advisors and parts interpreters, this means you too.

- Sound knowledge of vehicle makes and models, service schedules and mechanical labour-time guides

- You are comfortable getting hands-on with the technical side, using AI tools to build automations and able to tell whether what they produce is right, and fix it when it is not

- A genuine habit of teaching yourself new tools, and the appetite to keep doing it

- High proficiency in Excel and a high bar for data accuracy

- An ownership mindset and comfort with ambiguity

No formal software engineering or IT qualification is required. Demonstrated practical capability matters far more than a certificate.

What Will Make You Stand Out

- You have built something real with AI tools, and can talk through how you did it

- You are comfortable turning messy, inconsistent source data into clean, reliable output

- You work easily with APIs and file feeds, joining systems that were never designed to talk to each other

Why Choose Indiqator?

Our software runs behind OEMs, franchise groups, and independent dealers across Australia and Recent Zealand, so the work lands in front of real customers quickly. Teams here are small, so your work is visible and you are close to the people who use it. You get modern tooling, the backing to experiment, and the room to help shape how things are done.
