About the role
This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys the technical side of architecture — turning design intent into explicit, coordinated, buildable documentation. You'll work across the full project lifecycle, from early design through DA, CC, CDC, tender, and construction-stage documentation, with genuine autonomy and direct exposure to consultant coordination and compliance problem-solving.
Key responsibilities
Preparing architectural drawings and documentation packages for residential, childcare, commercial, and mixed-use projects
Progressing DA, CC, CDC, tender, and construction documentation from design development through to issue
Developing practical, functional design responses to project and site constraints
Coordinating with structural, civil, hydraulic, fire, access, acoustic, traffic, and landscape consultants, and integrating their input into the architectural set
Working through compliance-related drawing updates arising from NCC, Australian Standards, council controls, and certifier comments
Preparing presentation material, schedules, details, and drawing amendments as projects evolve
Partnering with the principal designer and project team to hit deadlines without compromising drawing quality
Communicating clearly and professionally with the team and external consultants
About you
Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Diploma of Building Design, or equivalent
At least 3 years' post-graduate experience in architectural documentation or building design
A track record preparing documentation for approval and for construction
Exposure to commercial, multi-residential, or mixed-use projects (highly regarded)
Working knowledge of NCC/BCA, Australian Standards, and NSW planning approval pathways (highly regarded)
Robust Revit skills preferred; AutoCAD experience also well regarded
Comfortable in Adobe Suite and Microsoft Office
Accurate, coordinated documentation habits and a sharp eye for detail
Confident working independently, managing your own workload, and taking initiative on technical issues
Explicit communicator who works well in a small, close-knit team
About us
We're an established architecture practice with a diverse pipeline of residential, commercial, and mixed-use projects. We're a small practice where your work is visible and your input matters — no getting lost in a large team.
