Hobsons Bay Hotel is looking for an experienced and energetic Assistant Venue Manager to join our leadership team in Williamstown.

This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for a hospitality qualified ready to step up, take ownership and make a real impact. Working closely with the Venue Manager, you’ll play a key role in leading the team, overseeing daily operations and ensuring consistently high standards across the venue.

About the Role

As Assistant Venue Manager, you will:
Lead and motivate the team during busy services
Support the Venue Manager with the day-to-day running of the venue
Deliver exceptional service and maintain high operational standards
Support staff training, development and performance
Assist with rostering and labour management
Monitor stock and assist with cost control
Ensure compliance with venue policies, procedures and relevant regulations
Help create a positive, skilled and high-performing team culture
Step into the Venue Manager’s role when required

About You

We’re looking for someone who is:




An experienced hospitality leader with previous management or supervisory experience
Confident leading a team in a fast-paced venue
Hands-on, proactive and willing to lead from the front
A strong communicator with excellent people skills
Organised and commercially minded, with sound operational knowledge
Passionate about delivering excellent service and creating memorable guest experiences
Available to work evenings, weekends and public holidays
