About SourceU

SourceU is a hiring platform that flips the usual sequence. Instead of employers wading through eighty identical resumes, every applicant records a video interview answering the employer's own questions — before a single call is booked. We generate transcripts, AI summaries and searchable profiles so a business can shortlist over lunch. We work with over 100 businesses across the USA, Australia, UK and Canada.

We're a small team, which means your code goes live quickly and you'll see real users touch it.

The role

We're hiring a graduate developer to work across our Laravel platform and the AI features running on top of it. Roughly half your time will be core application work — Eloquent models, queues, APIs, front end — and half on the AI side: transcription pipelines, candidate summarisation, and search over interview content.

This is a genuine graduate role. We expect to teach you, and code review and mentoring are part of the job.

What you'll do
Build features in Laravel: controllers, Eloquent relationships, migrations, form requests, policies
Work on queued jobs and background processing — video transcoding and transcription are core to what we do




Integrate LLM APIs for candidate summaries, transcript search, and question generation
Build and consume REST APIs powering the employer dashboard
Write tests with Pest or PHPUnit
Work on the front end with [Blade + Livewire / Inertia + Vue]

What we're looking for
A degree in computer science, software engineering or related — or a portfolio solid enough to make the degree irrelevant
Working knowledge of PHP and Laravel from coursework, internships or personal projects
Solid grasp of MVC, relational databases and Git
Some hands-on experience with AI tools or LLM APIs
Explicit written English — we're a distributed team and most decisions happen in writing
Valid work rights in Australia. Applicants on student, graduate and post-study work visas are welcome

Nice to have
Livewire, Inertia or Filament
Laravel queues, Horizon or scheduled tasks
Experience with file/video handling, S3, or transcription APIs
Docker, Laravel Sail, or deployment via Forge or Vapor
A public GitHub with Laravel work on it

Pay: $60,000.00 – $70,000.00 per year
