We are seeking a qualified and experienced Chef / Cook to join the kitchen team on a full-time basis. Depending on skills, qualifications, and experience, the successful applicant may be appointed as either Chef or Cook.

Duties and Responsibilities

Kitchen Operations
Prepare, season and cook a range of dishes to a high standard.
Ensure timely preparation and service during lunch, dinner and peak periods.
Maintain consistency in taste, portion control and presentation.
Monitor quality of raw ingredients and finished meals.
Regulate temperatures of ovens, grills, fryers and other cooking equipment.

Menu & Food Preparation
Assist in planning menus and specials.
Contribute ideas for current dishes and seasonal items.
Prepare meats, seafood, vegetables, sauces, desserts and accompaniments.
Manage stock rotation and minimise wastage.

Hygiene & Compliance
Maintain kitchen cleanliness and sanitation standards.
Follow food safety regulations and workplace health and safety requirements.
Ensure proper storage, handling and labelling of food products.

Team Support / Supervision (Chef level where applicable)
Supervise junior kitchen staff and kitchen hands.




Lead Menu Planning
Assist with rostering and training staff.
Coordinate kitchen workflow during service.
Assist in ordering supplies and monitoring stock levels.

Requirements

For Cook Position
Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification/work experience.
At least 1 year relevant experience.

For Chef Position
Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification/work experience.
At least 1 year relevant experience in a supervisory or commercial kitchen role preferred.

General Requirements
Ability to work weekends, evenings and public holidays.
Solid teamwork and communication skills.
Ability to work efficiently in a rapid-paced environment.
Reliable, punctual and committed to quality service.

Employment Conditions
Full-time position.
Minimum 38 hours per week.
Annual salary between AUD 76,515 – AUD 81,000 plus superannuation, depending on role and experience.
