Senior Payroll Officer - 3 Month Temporary Contract
Location: Melbourne CBD
Contract: Initial 3-month temporary contract

Our client is a large and well-established transportation organisation seeking an experienced Senior Payroll Officer to join their Melbourne CBD team on an initial 3-month temporary contract.
The Role
Reporting to the Payroll Manager, you will support the payroll function with a heavy focus on payroll reconciliations and data accuracy. You will be responsible for reviewing payroll data, identifying discrepancies and ensuring payroll records are accurate and compliant.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out detailed payroll reconciliations across payroll, general ledger, superannuation and other payroll-related accounts.
Investigate and resolve discrepancies and variances.
Review payroll data to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Assist with end-to-end payroll processing and payroll adjustments.
Reconcile leave, timesheets, allowances, deductions and other payroll components.
Ensure compliance with PAYG, superannuation, awards and EBA/EA requirements.
Respond to payroll queries and assist with resolving complex payroll issues.
Prepare payroll reports and assist with month-end and audit requirements.
Identify prospects to improve payroll processes and controls.
About You
Demonstrated experience as a Senior Payroll Officer or similar.
Robust experience in payroll reconciliations, with excellent attention to detail.
Solid end-to-end payroll processing experience within a large or complex organisation.
Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, awards and enterprise agreements.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
Solid Excel skills and experience working with large volumes of payroll data.
Available to commence at short notice for an initial 3-month contract.
