Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Financial Accountant to join our Trade Finance team on a 12-month parental leave contract.

Reporting to the Finance Manager - Trade, you will play a key role in delivering accurate financial reporting, maintaining robust financial controls and supporting commercial decision-making across one of Bapcor's largest and most key business segments.

This position also provides leadership and development support to a Financial Accountant while partnering closely with stakeholders across Finance, Operations, Merchandise and Group functions.

Key Responsibilities
Lead month-end accounting activities, including journal preparation, financial reporting and balance sheet reconciliations.
Review monthly financial performance for the Trade segment and stores P&Ls;,



investigate variances against Budget/Forecast and Prior Year and provide meaningful commentary and insights.
Coordinate half-year and year-end audit activities, including preparation of supporting documentation and management of auditor queries.
Ensure compliance with accounting standards, Group policies, financial controls and reporting requirements.
Drive improvements in financial processes, reporting quality, automation and control effectiveness.
Provide accounting advice, financial analysis and support to business stakeholders.
Lead, coach and develop a Financial Accountant, ensuring high-quality outputs and effective succession planning.
