This is a great prospect for a CA/CPA-qualified accountant looking for a hands-on role within a complex and highly regulated workplace. The position sits within the Finance Operations team and will work closely with the Finance Manager and broader finance function to ensure the day-to-day accounting operations, reporting and compliance requirements are delivered accurately and on time.

About the role

This is a broad Senior Financial Accountant position covering BAU accounting, month-end, reconciliations, taxation, statutory reporting, financial systems and team support.

You will be responsible for:
Managing the day-to-day financial accounting function, ensuring monthly reconciliations, month-end processes and reporting are completed accurately and on time.
Preparing and supporting annual financial accounts, statutory reporting and year-end processes
Coordinating key taxation obligations including GST, BAS, FBT and Payroll Tax
Contributing to the management of the Fixed Asset Register, depreciation, reconciliations and associated reporting requirements.
Providing guidance,



support and coaching to two Financial Accountants, helping maintain high standards and ensuring deadlines are consistently met.
Playing a hands-on role in supporting financial operations associated with upcoming organisational activity, including accounts payable, venue payments, reimbursements and other high-volume transactions.
Working collaboratively across the Finance team and demonstrating the flexibility to step into new areas, pick things up quickly and take ownership when required.

About You

You will ideally have:
CA/CPA qualification with relevant tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
Strong experience in financial accounting, month-end, reconciliations and year-end reporting.
Demonstrated experience preparing or contributing to statutory financial statements and financial audits.
Ideally, experience working within NSW Government or another public sector environment
Robust communication skills and the confidence to work with stakeholders across different levels of an organisation.
