About Kimberley Aboriginal Medical Services
Kimberley Aboriginal Medical Services Ltd (KAMS) is a pivotal Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service (ACCHS) dedicated to enhancing the health and well-being of Aboriginal people in the Kimberley region of Western Australia. Established in ****, KAMS coordinates and supports a network of member ACCHS across towns and remote communities.
KAMS offers a diverse range of services that include financial and accounting support, population health programs, social and emotional well-being initiatives, health promotion, and accredited health training and education. Our overarching vision is to provide quality healthcare services and advocate effectively on behalf of Aboriginal health issues within the region.
Position Overview
The Aboriginal Care Coordinator role based in
Kununurra
on a
Part-time basis
- Renal plays a crucial role in establishing and implementing care coordination services aimed at supporting Aboriginal patients with renal conditions. This position involves providing essential information and education regarding renal health, engaging with patients in outreach settings, and advocating for their rights within a multidisciplinary team framework.




Key responsibilities include developing strategies to enhance access to primary healthcare for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, facilitating culturally sensitive health care delivery, and working collaboratively with local Aboriginal Medical Services.
We are seeking a dedicated individual who embodies a strong commitment to improving healthcare for Aboriginal communities. The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
Experience working with Indigenous communities from diverse backgrounds.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
A commitment to confidentiality and cultural sensitivity.
Desirable attributes include previous experience in a health setting, mentorship capacity for Aboriginal staff, and sound computer skills. The ability to travel within the Kimberley region is also advantageous.
Salary & Benefits
This position offers a market-competitive salary of
$85,126
per annum pro rata, along with additional benefits such as:
Accommodation Allowance of
$7,800
per annum pro rata
Annual Airfare of
$1,800
per annum pro rata, and
The opportunity for salary sacrifice up to
$30,000
per annum.
