Help create events and experiences that bring people together and contribute to a vibrant, connected Wodonga.
As Event Coordinator, you'll take events from early ideas and planning through to delivery and evaluation, coordinating the many moving parts that make a successful event happen. From programming, performers and suppliers to site planning, logistics, permits and safety, this is a varied role where strong organisation and practical problem-solving make a visible difference.
Key aspects of the role:
Bring Council events from concept to delivery
Take an active role across the full event lifecycle, turning ideas into well-planned experiences for the community. This includes developing event schedules and site plans, coordinating programming, entertainment and stallholders, and bringing together the infrastructure, permits and resources required for the event to come to life.
Coordinate the details behind successful events
Keep the many moving parts of event delivery on track by coordinating venues, suppliers, contractors, equipment, site access and operational requirements. As event day approaches, you'll monitor preparations, respond to changing conditions and solve practical issues to help deliver safe, organised and enjoyable events.
Support community organisations to deliver great events
Build positive relationships with local event organisers and provide practical guidance that helps them plan and deliver sustainable community events. From venue and park bookings to event documentation, promotion and Council requirements, your advice will make processes easier to navigate and strengthen local event capability.
Create safe, inclusive and continuously improving experiences
Build safety, accessibility and valuable event management practices into planning from the outset. You'll coordinate risk assessments, event plans, briefings and site inspections, then use attendance information,
feedback and event debriefs to identify what worked well and where future events can be even better.
What we're looking for
We're looking for an experienced event professional who enjoys bringing people, plans and practical details together. You'll be comfortable working with a broad range of stakeholders and able to stay organised and solutions-focused when priorities shift or event-day challenges arise.
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
Demonstrated understanding and recent event management experience
Experience planning, coordinating, delivering and evaluating community or public events.
Strong event logistics experience, including suppliers, contractors, infrastructure, programming, schedules and operational documentation.
Sound knowledge of event safety, risk management, regulatory and accessibility requirements.
Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and changing event requirements.
Confidence managing event budgets and resources within approved allocations.
Well-developed communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to provide practical advice to community organisations and other stakeholders.
