Full-time (100%), fixed-term for up to 12 months. Base salary will be in the range $140,767 - $148,862 + 17% super (HEW Level 9). Based at our St Lucia campus.
About This Opportunity
The School Manager is the primary advisor to the Head of School, School Executive and broader School community on matters relating to University, Faculty and School operations, governance, finance, people management and core business processes. As a trusted and collaborative member of the School Executive, you will help shape strategy, drive operational excellence and support the delivery of world-class teaching and research outcomes. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced leader to work within a purpose-driven, inclusive and high-performing environment where we are creating change together and enabling meaningful impact across education, research and community engagement.
Key Responsibilities
Partnering with the Head of School and School Executive to develop and operationalise strategic priorities, performance measures and continuous improvement initiatives.
Leading School-based finance, workforce planning and recruitment activities, including oversight of budget processes and resource management.
Providing expert advice on governance, risk, policy implementation and compliance with legislative and professional requirements.
Building strong relationships across the Faculty, University and external stakeholders to support a seamless and positive experience for staff, students and industry partners.
About You
A postgraduate qualification with relevant experience in a university or comparable complex organisation,



or an equivalent combination of education, training and professional experience.
Demonstrated success in a senior leadership role with responsibility for finance, budget planning, workforce management and operational service delivery.
Solid financial acumen, including experience analysing complex data, managing budgets and supporting strategic decision-making.
Proven ability to work independently, exercise sound judgement and deliver outcomes within established policies and governance frameworks.
Experience developing and implementing administrative strategies, systems and processes that improve organisational effectiveness and service quality.
Demonstrated success leading, coaching and developing multidisciplinary teams while balancing competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
Exceptional communication, stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, including experience preparing reports, submissions and strategic advice for senior leaders.
