Werribee Bowls Club Inc. (WBC) is currently seeking expressions of interest for a Playing Coach to join the Club for the upcoming ******* season and beyond.
WERRIBEE BOWLS CLUB BACKGROUND:
WBC was established in **** and is an important part of the local Werribee community. The venue currently boasts 3 quality 7 rink greens (21 rinks in total), one a synthetic green and two Tifdwarf grass greens professionally maintained.
Currently the club fields 5 teams in Metro Weekend Pennant, with the first team in Division 2, and 5 teams in Metro Midweek Pennant, with the first team in Division 2. With circa 110 Affiliated members, the club is looking to grow our playing base.
ROLE DESCRIPTION:
WBC are seeking a suitably experienced individual to take on the role of coach of the club, with either current coaching qualifications or a person looking to develop their coaching career.
The role will provide coaching, guidance and support to individuals and teams across all skill levels, of all age groups, including new bowlers, with a focus on developing technique and skills, and also educate on strategy and performance. This will include development of structured club wide and individual sessions for both experienced and new bowlers, including pre-season.
Whilst there is an expectation the role will play Weekend Pennant at a minimum, it does not have to be in the first team,



as the focus of the role is on coaching the club, and player and club development.
KEY ATTRIBUTES:
Whilst a coaching qualification is helpful, it is not a pre-requisite for the role. The applicant's history and experience will be viewed favourably.
Must be a good communicator, passionate and motivated to develop individuals, teams and the club as a whole.
Be able to engage and educate members of all ages and skills, including patience with novice bowlers.
Have the available time to invest in the club's player development, both existing and current.
REMUNERATION:
Remuneration to be discussed upon your interest, tenure and availability of time commitment for the role. WBC would commit to the appropriate candidate for multiple seasons should that be a consideration.
