About the role:
An exciting opportunity is available for a Speech Pathologist to join the team on a contractor basis. This role offers flexibility and autonomy while being supported within a collaborative Allied Health workplace.
The successful clinician will assess, diagnose, and treat a wide range of communication and swallowing disorders while delivering tailored, goal-oriented therapy programs aligned with each client's individual strengths, interests, and goals.
You will work closely with Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Psychologists, and other allied health professionals to provide integrated and meaningful care.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct assessments for speech, language, communication, AAC, and swallowing difficulties
Develop evidence-based and individualised therapy plans
Deliver interventions targeting articulation, language, social communication,
cognitive-communication, and dysphagia management
Utilise AAC systems, technology-based supports, and creative therapy approaches
Collaborate within a multidisciplinary Allied Health team to support coordinated client outcomes
Empower clients to improve independence, confidence, and participation within their families, workplaces, and communities
Support a diverse caseload including NDIS participants, older adults, and rehabilitation clients

Requirements:
Tertiary qualification in Speech Pathology
SPA membership (or eligibility)
Experience working with paediatric and/or adult caseloads highly regarded
Knowledge of AAC and dysphagia management preferred
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
Current First Aid qualification
Current driver's licence and access to a vehicle (if community-based work is involved)
NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain)
