The role
To be eligible for this role you will need to hold or be able to obtain an Australian Government Security Vetting Agency clearance. See link for specific details of suitability (). The Infrastructure Operations team is seeking Data Centre Technicians to join our expanding team. As a Data Centre Technician, you'll troubleshoot and resolve a range of infrastructure issues including server hardware, fiber, networking, and related problems. If you have experience applying structured IT concepts, such as system architecture and network communication models—to troubleshoot and solve complex technical problems, we'd like to hear from you.
Skills and experience




As a Data Centre Technician within Infrastructure Operations at Amazon Web Services, you will help build, deploy, and maintain the physical infrastructure that supports global cloud services. Your responsibilities include installing server racks, performing structured cabling, and maintaining accurate capacity and asset records within the data centre. You will troubleshoot and resolve issues across server hardware, fibre connections, and network systems to ensure reliable performance. The role involves managing and prioritising trouble tickets, escalating and resolving high‐severities incidents, and supporting Linux‐based system diagnostics. Working on a 24/7 shift rotation, you will operate in a fast‐paced environment with strict security and safety standards, including handling equipment.
Requirements
Valid and active driver's license
Experience with computer hardware troubleshooting and repair
Ability to cover 24x7 shift rotation
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in a data center environment (racking and stacking gear, cable management, hot/cold aisle containment)
Experience with Network Protocols: TCP/IP, Ethernet, L2/L3 technologies
Knowledge of Linux/Unix Administration
