Casual Ward Clerk - Emergency Department
About the Role
As a Casual Ward Clerk in the Emergency Department, you will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors and play an significant role in supporting the smooth operation of the department. Responsibilities include:
Providing exceptional customer service to patients, families and visitors.
Managing face-to-face and telephone enquiries professionally and efficiently.
Registering patients and maintaining accurate patient information.
Processing patient admissions
Entering and managing information within TrakCare, EMR and other hospital systems.
Coordinating administrative processes, appointments and medical records management.
Supporting patient flow through effective communication with clinical teams and key stakeholders.
Providing administrative support to the Nurse Unit Manager and Emergency Department team.
Key Requirements
Applicants should demonstrate:




Availability to work weekends and after hours essential
Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Sound administrative and organisational abilities.
High attention to detail and accuracy.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic information systems.
Ability to work effectively in a busy environment and manage competing priorities.
Commitment to confidentiality, professionalism and teamwork.
