About the Organisation
Future Leadership is working with an Australian corporate Commonwealth entity on a recent executive role. The organisation is driven by a public purpose and applies a commercial mindset to its work. They are involved in extensive stakeholder engagement with states and territories and the industry in which they operate. This role will act as the CEO's senior delegate for program delivery.
About the Role
Role Purpose
The Chief Strategic Partnerships and Delivery Officer provides enterprise leadership for the organisation's portfolio delivery capability, strategic public-sector partnerships and delivery assurance. Acting as the CEO's senior delegate for program delivery, the role has authority to make and direct the decisions that are required to advance its objectives.
Selected Key Role Responsibilities & Accountabilities
Lead the Program Delivery Unit and embed consistent portfolio, program and project management disciplines across the organisation
Exercise delegated authority on behalf of the Chief Executive Officer for program delivery matters.
Provide a portfolio-wide view of delivery performance, risks, opportunities, dependencies and outlook, enabling the organisation to have active stewardship of program and portfolio outcomes.
Lead portfolio and program reporting, delivery forecasting, delivery-confidence assessment, risk analysis and contingency planning to support senior executives, the Board and all stakeholders.
Lead strategic relationships with other entities at multiple levels of government.
Identify emerging risks, opportunities and environmental factors affecting the organisation's delivery objectives.

Promote practical risk awareness by helping the team understand acceptable levels of risk as defined by the Risk Appetite set by the Board, and support them to learn from past issues and make well‐informed, balanced decisions.
Selected Key Skills & Experience
Extensive senior executive experience in a public-sector or highly regulated context.
Demonstrated expertise in portfolio, program and project management disciplines, including delivery baselining, forecasting, risk assessment, contingency planning, dependency management and intervention design.
Strong understanding of public policy delivery, intergovernmental relations and the operating environment of Commonwealth, state and territory governments.
Outstanding judgement, resilience and ethical leadership, including the ability to manage sensitive delivery issues that are subject to scrutiny.
Exceptional communication, negotiation and influencing skills, with the ability to align diverse stakeholders around practical delivery outcomes.
Capacity to lead multidisciplinary teams with clarity and purpose, driving collaboration, accountability and a strong delivery culture
Qualifications
Relevant tertiary qualifications in public administration, infrastructure, construction, property, engineering, project management, business, economics, public policy or a related field.
Formal portfolio, program or project management accreditation or equivalent practical experience in major program delivery would be highly regarded.
