As an integrated, multidisciplinary heavy engineering and construction services provider, Civmec is strongly committed to strengthening Australia's sovereign defence capability through advanced manufacturing, fabrication, and construction services. As the prime contractor delivering the Offshore Patrol Vessel (OPV) program for the Commonwealth of Australia, our organisation plays a pivotal role in supporting national defence projects.
In the role of Compartment Completion Inspector, you will be responsible for overseeing, inspecting, and verifying the completion standards of compartments in alignment with rigorous project specifications and quality assurance frameworks. This is an essential part-time opportunity to contribute your expertise to high-level maritime and defence manufacturing operations.
Key responsibilities for this role typically include:




Conducting thorough inspections of compartments to ensure compliance with design, quality, and regulatory standards.
Documenting inspection results, raising non-conformance reports where necessary, and tracking remedial actions to completion.
Collaborating closely with production, quality assurance, and project management teams to maintain high workmanship standards.
Verifying that all structural and outfitting completion milestones are properly achieved prior to handover or sign-off.
Maintaining accurate records and documentation in accordance with company and defense project protocols.
To be successful in this position, you should bring a solid background in inspection, quality control, or heavy engineering/manufacturing environments, along with a keen eye for detail and a thorough understanding of compliance processes. Familiarity with defense industry standards or shipbuilding and maritime fabrication is highly advantageous.
