INTRODUCTION:The Collections Officer is an important role of Coex Capital reporting directly to the Head of Credit and Operations.
As a key member of Coex Capital and the Operations Team, the successful candidate is expected to always display the highest levels of professionalism and integrity, demonstrating sound workflow management capability and decision making that balances the needs of Coex Capital's strategy, lenders and shareholders with the strictest adherence to policy and legislative requirements.PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:This role is primarily responsible for the day-to-day management of payment default, arrears and other Collections activities.
However the successful candidate will also be expected to assist with the end-to-end processing equipment finance applications, giving them broad exposure across the entire business.Responsibilities include:Dedicated Collections Activities:o Daily review and actioning of dishonour and arrears reports in accordance with Coex Capital policyo Negotiating and documenting repayment arrangementso Maintaining client files including inputting, checking,
and updating of data into core systems ensuring accuracy of all informationo Other operational tasks as may be delegated from time to timeOperations Activities:Managing the new application workflow, keying new external broker application details into core systems and verifying application data where requiredPreparing equipment finance loan documentation, assessing and processing loan payouts, security releases and other stakeholder requestsManaging enquiries from colleagues, broker introducers, borrowers and third partiesOther operational tasks as may be delegated from time to timeGeneral internal and external communications:o Establishing verbal and written contact with brokers, borrowers and other stakeholders as requiredo Build solid external stakeholder relationships including, mercantile agents, auction houses, insolvency practitioners, etc.o Providing insights on macro and portfolio trends, together with forecasting of arrears, provisioning and incurred credit losses.o Managing enquiries from colleagues, broker introducers, borrowers and third partieso Working as part of a collaborative and inclusive teamEnsuring regulatory compliance in the Collections officer role:o Adhering to and monitoring of SLAs consistent with established policies,
procedures and Coex Capital's funding and shareholder obligationso Develop thorough understanding of product loan agreements to ensure strict compliance with all terms and conditionso Adhering to internal and external dispute resolution processes and liaising with third parties such as AFCAo Contributing to strategies for managing risk in collections and recoveries including providing input for procedure improvements and policy enhancementsEXPERIENCE:2-3 years Collections experience, preferably in a Banking or Finance environmentCurrent or previous Equipment Finance Collections and/or Operations experience will be viewed favourablyExperience in dealing with external stakeholders such as borrowers, finance brokers and mercantile agentsSKILLS:All employees at Coex are required to demonstrate our values of authentic, responsive and accessible in their role.
