With extensive experience in operations, training and helicopter maintenance, our staff are some of the most highly experienced and well-trained aviation professionals in the country.Toll Aviation is seeking a motivated and safety-focused Aircraft Maintenance Engineer / Aircraft Surface Finisher (Spray Painter) to join our Rotary Wing team based at Bankstown Airport.This is a hands-on role supporting our engineering team across aircraft maintenance, surface finishing, and general hangar operations.
You'll play a critical part in maintaining operational readiness, reducing downtime, and supporting the delivery of key Government & Defence contracts.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineers (LAMEs) with the execution of maintenance activities in a safe and compliant manner to ensure minimum downtime of aircraft while ensuring do not proceed past inspection check points until inspected by supervisor.Perform aircraft maintenance tasks as directed on a non-certifying basisPrepare aircraft surfaces including sanding, masking, stripping, and primingApply polyurethane and other aviation-grade coatings to aircraft components and structuresPerform touch-ups, refinishing, and corrosion protection treatmentsConduct maintenance and upkeep of ground support equipment and toolingComply with all safety, environmental, and operational procedures and uphold Toll Aviation's values and safety-first cultureAbout YouIdeal candidate will have:Mechanical aptitude or hands-on technical skillsetProven experience in polyurethane spray painting (automotive, marine, or aviation)Aviation or aircraft maintenance exposure and experienceDemonstrated ability to use initiative, prioritise and work to tight timeframes with limited supervisionCertificate III or IV in Aircraft Surface FinishingStrong understanding of Work Health & Safety practicesFull working rights in AustraliaExperience working in a regulated or safety-critical environmentBasic computer skillsCert II IV in AeroskillsPersonal AttributesWell-organised with the ability to prioritise tasksCapable of working both independently and within a teamPositive, proactive, and safety-focused mindsetAdaptable with a "can-do-safely" attitudeAble to build strong working relationships across the teamWhat moves you?
