UNE Life's Student Experience team is seeking a Bistro Coordinator to establish and maintain the Bistro as a welcoming community hub that strengthens campus vibrancy and student wellbeing.
This is a hands-on role that combines food and beverage service delivery with event coordination, community engagement, and stakeholder management.Applications Close: Midnight, Thursday 13 August ****.You'll be responsible for:Building and fostering an inclusive atmosphere where students connect and belong, creating a "third place" that reduces social isolation and strengthens campus communityCoordinating event setup and logistics for both student-led and paid events, liaising with the Student Engagement Coordinator, Operations Coordinator, and Events teamDelivering direct food and beverage service, including taking orders, food preparation, and bartending in accordance with responsible service of alcohol practicesManaging day-to-day operations with a focus on quality, compliance, and our values-aligned hospitality model that prioritises low/no alcohol options and inclusive pricingMarketing the Bistro and upcoming events alongside the Student Engagement Coordinator to drive student engagement and footfallOverseeing inventory management, ordering, stock rotation, and maintenance of bar equipmentWorking with the Student Experience team on combined projects, contributing to Clubs & Societies, TuneFM, Digital HQ, Advocacy & Welfare Services,



as well as student events and activationsAbout youYou'll have:Demonstrated excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication and organisational skillsA genuine passion for student wellbeing and community connectionExperience coordinating events or managing venue operations in a community-focused environmentUnderstanding of food and beverage operations and hospitality best practiceAbility to work independently while collaborating effectively within a diverse teamUnderstanding of responsible service of alcohol practices and have / or be willing to get a NSW RSA CertificationAbout the Student Experience teamThe Student Experience team at UNE Life is dedicated to fostering connection, engagement, and vibrant campus culture.
