Are you an accountant with solid public practice experience who is ready to keep building your technical skills, client confidence and career?

We are looking for an Accountant with around 2–3 years’ Australian public practice experience to join our Wollongong team.

You’ll work as part of a collaborative accounting team, led and supported by an experienced Senior Accountant, giving you the opportunity to continue learning while taking greater ownership of your work.

This is a great role for someone who has already built a solid foundation in tax and business services and is now looking for more exposure, better development and a genuine pathway forward.

What you’ll be doing

Your role will include:

- Preparing financial statements and income tax returns

- Working with companies, trusts, partnerships and individuals

- Preparing Business Activity Statements

- Completing accounting and taxation work for SME clients

- Preparing individual income tax returns

- Assisting with year-end tax planning

- Liaising directly with clients to obtain information and resolve queries

- Managing your workflow and statutory deadlines

- Liaising with the ATO where required

- Working with Xero and other cloud-based accounting systems

- Supporting your Senior Accountant with client portfolio management

- Collaborating with accountants and support staff across the broader team

As your experience and confidence develop, you’ll be given greater responsibility and more direct client exposure.

What we’re looking for

To be considered, you will ideally have:

- 2–3 years’ Australian public practice accounting experience

- Experience preparing financial statements and tax returns

- Experience working with companies, trusts, partnerships and individuals

- Good working knowledge of Australian taxation and compliance

- BAS preparation experience

- Strong Xero skills





- Good written and verbal communication skills

- Ability to manage competing deadlines

- Strong attention to detail

- An accounting, commerce or equivalent tertiary qualification

CPA or CA studies, or an intention to commence them, will be highly regarded.

You’ll be part of an established accounting team and work closely with a Senior Accountant who will provide technical guidance, review your work and help develop your capability.
