Hunter Recent England Local Health District is seeking a Locum ED SRMO to support Emergency Department coverage at Maitland Hospital.
You will assess and manage ED presentations, support patient flow, complete clinical documentation and work closely with nursing and medical teams. This role suits an SRMO with recent Emergency Medicine experience who is confident working in a regional ED setting and escalating care appropriately when required.
Clinical Environment
This is a hospital-based ED SRMO locum role within Hunter New England LHD.
Shifts are generally 14:00 – 00:00, making this suitable for doctors looking for afternoon/evening work without a full overnight roster. You will be working in a regional Emergency Department with a varied patient mix and senior escalation pathways available.
Patient Demographic
You will support a broad Emergency Department patient demographic, including acute presentations, adults, older patients, families and patients requiring assessment, stabilisation and ongoing management.
Key Duties
- Assess and manage ED presentations
- Support patient flow and treatment planning
- Complete clinical documentation and handover
- Escalate clinical concerns appropriately
- Work collaboratively with nursing and medical teams
Requirements
- Current AHPRA Registration
- Recent Emergency Medicine experience at SRMO level
- Ability to work safely within scope and escalate appropriately
- Current CV, references and compliance documents as required
