Full-Time Team Leader – Guardrail Installer

Mid Coast NSW – Travel & Working Away Required

Job Location: NSW Wide (Base Location Bulahdelah, NSW)

Employment Type: Full Time.

Hours per week: 38 Hours per week + some overtime

Remuneration Wages: $39 + (gross) per hour. Negotiable based on experience.

Additional: All costs associated with Accommodation and food are paid for during away periods.

Company Overview:

Guardrail Systems is an established construction company with over 40 years in combined experience. We specialise in civil construction, mines, and private Industries. The primary focus of this company is the installation of Guardrail and Wire Rope safety barriers.

Jobsite Locations:

Our jobsites vary across New South Wales. The right applicant must be willing to travel and be away from home during work periods.

Accommodation, transport and food is supplied for away periods – accommodation is usually in an Airbnb/ Motels.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Guardrail Installer- Team Leader to join our Mid Coast team. This is a full-time leadership role involving regional travel and working away on road infrastructure and mine-site projects across NSW.

As Team Leader, you will supervise and work alongside installation crews and manage daily site operations, ensuring all works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to required standards.

All works must comply with:

- Work Health and Safety Act 2011

- SafeWork NSW requirements

- Austroads guidelines

- Standards Australia (relevant AS/NZS standards)

- Transport for NSW specifications

Key Responsibilities





- Lead and supervise guardrail installation crews (3+ personnel)

- Install W-beam guardrail systems, wire rope barriers, end terminals, and Crash Cushions

- Read and interpret construction drawings

- Conduct daily pre-start meetings and toolbox talks

- Maintain strict WHS compliance and safe work practices

- Operate and oversee plant and equipment (pile/post drivers, excavators, skid steers, etc.)

- Coordinate with project managers, contractors, and mine representatives

- Maintain QA documentation and site records

- Deliver projects safely, on time, and to specification

Work Setting

- Outdoor, physically demanding and labour-intensive role

- Manual handling, lifting, and repetitive physical tasks

- Working in hot, cold, wet, and dusty conditions

- Regional travel and working away from home required

- Working with a modern fleet of trucks and well-maintained machinery

- Punctual and professional

- Positive, can-do attitude

- Adaptable communication skills – able to work effectively with your team, contractors, and site representatives

- Physically fit and capable of sustained manual labour

- Extremely reliable and committed to safety and quality





- Ability to understand and implement Health and Safety Policies and procedures.

- Able to lead by example and maintain high work standards

Essential Requirements

- Proven experience in roadside barrier / guardrail installation or civil construction

- Demonstrated leadership experience in civil or road construction

- White Card (Construction Induction Card) – Essential

- Full Driver’s Licence and vehicle– Essential

- HR or HC truck Licence (or willingness to obtain)

- Machinery operating experience.

- Tickets to operate Telehandlers, Positracks and/or Excavators (or willingness to obtain)

- Willingness to travel and work away

- Ability to undertake and pass:

- Order 45 Coal Board Medical

- Drug and alcohol testing (including random site testing)

- ASHTAS qualification

- Online and onsite WHS inductions.

- Two contactable work referees required
