The Opportunity

We are seeking motivated and enthusiastic applicants to fill the position of an Aseptic Compounding Technician to work full time in our on-site aseptic manufacturing facility. In this role, you will be involved in the preparation and aseptic manufacture of various chemotherapy, immunotherapy and clinical trial products for intravenous administration in cancer treatment.

Key Responsibilities

- Aseptic compounding – Chemotherapy, immunotherapy and clinical trial products.
- Production preparation – Worksheet preparation and batch assembly.
- Product decontamination – Safe decontamination of compounded products and associated materials.
- Quality and environmental monitoring – Environmental monitoring and compliance with aseptic processing requirements.
- Distribution and facility support – Dispatching finished products to the Day Therapy Unit and supporting other product-preparation and facility-maintenance processes.

Essential Requirements

- Previous pharmacy experience or a strong science-based background.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with all members of the health care team, patients and carers,



contractors and vendors.
- An appreciation of the principles of medication safety.
- An understanding of the delivery of cancer care.
- Current Working with Children Check (WWCC)
- National Police Check (within the last 6 months or willingness to obtain)
- Compliance with Category A immunisation requirements

Desirable Criteria

- Experience in hospital pharmacy practice.
- Experience in a pharmaceutical 'cleanroom' and the reconstitution of cytotoxic drugs in cytotoxic drug safety cabinets.
- Experience with dispensing medicines related to clinical trials, SAS or patient familiarisation programmes.
- Previous experience in an oncology related environment
- A working knowledge of the PBS.
