The Opportunity

Join Lockheed Martin Australia's UH-60M Black Hawk program and play a key role in supporting the Australian Army's next-generation aviation capability. As a Design Engineer (Airframe), you will contribute to the design, certification and sustainment of the UH-60M fleet, delivering engineering solutions that ensure the continued airworthiness, safety and operational effectiveness of this critical Defence platform.

Working closely with the UH-60M System Program Office, engineering specialists and Defence stakeholders, you'll have the opportunity to apply your technical expertise across a variety of airframe engineering activities, from structural analysis and design modifications to certification and system safety. This role offers exposure to a unique Defence aviation environment where your work will directly support a capability of national importance.

Key Responsibilities

- Deliver engineering design, certification and compliance activities supporting UH-60M projects and modifications

- Conduct engineering analysis including structural assessments, weight and balance activities, and airframe design evaluations

- Develop engineering drawings, design changes and modification solutions to support aircraft capability and sustainment requirements

- Contribute to system safety activities, engineering investigations and technical assessments

- Provide technical guidance and recommendations on airframe design and airworthiness considerations

- Support the development and coordination of engineering outputs including publications, test activities, spares and off-aircraft interfaces

What you’ll bring

To be successful in this role you will have:

- A Bachelor of Engineering (Aerospace, Aeronautical, Mechanical or equivalent)

- Proven experience in aircraft design, sustainment, airworthiness or aerospace engineering environments

- Experience conducting engineering analysis,



design modifications and technical assessments for aircraft systems or structures

- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams

- Experience operating under engineering governance frameworks and holding, or the ability to attain, Engineering Authority as a Design Engineer (DE)

- Knowledge of DASR regulations, Defence aviation programs or System Program Office environments will be highly regarded

- NV1 security clearance and ability to handle Export Controlled information

- Proficient in AI prompting as it applies to this position and practice
