Payroll Officer

Finance Team | Henderson, WA

Cranecorp Australia is seeking a capable and motivated Payroll Officer to join our finance team. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer and working closely with the broader finance team, this role is responsible for supporting the accurate and timely delivery of payroll across the business.

About the Role

This is a hands-on role responsible for ensuring accurate, compliant, and timely payroll processing in a multi-site operational environment.

You will play an significant role in supporting payroll operations, responding to employee queries, and ensuring the business meets its statutory and employment obligations.

Key responsibilities include:

- Assist in the delivery of end-to-end payroll processing across the business

- Process accurate and timely weekly and monthly payroll cycles

- Respond to payroll-related enquiries from employees and managers

- Interpret Modern Awards, Enterprise Agreements, and employment contracts to ensure correct pay outcomes

- Process superannuation contributions and assist with statutory compliance obligations

- Support compliance with STP, PAYGW, payroll tax, My Leave and other payroll-related requirements

- Perform payroll reconciliations and assist with reporting and variance analysis

- Maintain employee payroll records and data integrity

- Support payroll system improvements, upgrades, and automation initiatives

- Assist with month-end processes, including payroll-related reconciliations

- Work collaboratively with Finance, HR, and Operations teams across the business

About You





You will be detail-oriented, organised, and enjoy working as part of a team.

We are looking for someone with:

- Previous experience in payroll, administration, finance, or a similar role

- Strong attention to detail and a structured approach to work

- Sound technology skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel, and a willingness to learn new systems

- Experience with Greentree ERP (or similar systems) is advantageous but not essential

- A qualification in Payroll, Accounting, Business, or a related discipline is desirable

- A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and continually improve processes

- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a range of stakeholders
