Boilermakers / Mechanical Fitters

Brilliant Boton Australia is seeking experienced Boilermakers and Mechanical Fitters to join our field service team on a casual basis, supporting ongoing maintenance, shutdown and project work across local and Pilbara sites.

Reporting to the Coordinator/Supervisor, duties will include but are not limited to:

- Working across customer sites, workshops and field service operations

- Responding to breakdowns and maintenance requirements as required

- Fixed plant and conveyor maintenance, repairs and installations

- Removal, replacement and installation of mechanical components

- Fabrication, welding and repair of plant and equipment

- Working from drawings, specifications and work packs

- Equipment and shutdown preparation

- General mechanical maintenance and inspections

- Grinding, cutting, welding and mechanical preparation work

- Mobilisation of tools and equipment from the workshop to site

- Supporting shutdowns, breakdowns and planned maintenance activities

- Maintaining a clean and safe work area

- Completing required safety documentation and hazard assessments

For Boilermakers, the role includes fabrication and welding in accordance with specifications, drawings and work packs, as well as the construction and repair of equipment.

Knowledge and Experience:

Trade-qualified Boilermakers and Mechanical Fitters with relevant experience in mining, fixed plant, heavy industry, maintenance or similar environments.

Experience working with conveyors and associated fixed plant equipment will be highly regarded.

The position description also places emphasis on teamwork, communication with supervisors, hazard identification, housekeeping and continuous improvement.

QUALIFICATIONS/TICKETS:

Essential:

- Relevant Australian-recognised trade qualification:

- Boilermaker – Certificate III in Engineering (Fabrication Trade) or equivalent, or

- Mechanical Fitter trade qualification or equivalent

- Current C-Class Driver’s Licence

- Construction White Card

- Australian working rights

- Ability to pass a Pre-Employment Medical and Drug & Alcohol Screen

- Hold a valid, or be willing to obtain, National Police Clearance

- Demonstrated experience within your relevant trade

- Boilermakers must be able to successfully complete a weld test

The Boilermaker position description specifies a C-Class licence, Australian working rights, weld-test capability and Certificate III in Engineering (Fabrication Trade) or equivalent as mandatory.
