Our client is a long-standing beef processor in the Toowoomba and Darling Downs region, producing for export markets. They're looking for a Sales Coordination Supervisor to lead and manage the Sales and Shipping team, supporting the plant in the backend coordination from production to load out. You'll have an experienced team and supportive leadership around you, and the scope to run the function properly.
Why This Role?
- Pay and perks: Competitive salary, company uniform, staff purchase program, on-site canteen and an Employee Assistance Program;
- Leadership: Five direct reports across production coordination, shipping and export documentation;
- Lifestyle: Monday to Friday on site — true work life balance in an idyllic region;
- Stability: A large local employer with a long history in the region.
Scope
Reporting to the General Manager, you'll oversee the Sales and Shipping function — keeping product moving efficiently from production through to load out, making sure export documentation is accurate and on time, and meeting KPIs for sales and production. You'll work closely with production supervisors, livestock, accounts and the head office sales and shipping teams, as well as shipping lines, freight companies and by-product customers.
What You'll Be Doing
- Managing and overseeing the Shipping and Documentation team, coordinating logistics and keeping all stakeholders updated;
- Ensuring KPIs are met for sales and production;
- Ensuring an efficient flow of production through to load out;
- Ensuring the shipping team apply EDN for shipments, prepare Draft Bills, and prepare and submit export documents including Invoices, Packing Lists, Certificates of Origin, Insurance Certificates, Bills of Lading and health certificates;
- Making sure product is cut and packed to the specifications required by overseas markets;
- Assisting managers and staff with general production and shipping enquiries, and supporting customer visits and tours;
- Business reporting and KPI monitoring, plus other administrative duties as required by the General Manager;
- Participating in risk management, safety and continuous quality improvement as part of day-to-day work.
Success Profile
- Meat processing industry experience (essential);
- Solid, demonstrated export and logistics experience within food or perishable products;
- Working knowledge of beef cuts and the beef specifications required for overseas markets (essential);
- Strong computer skills — word processing, Excel and database management;
- AUS-MEAT qualifications, particularly Beef Product Specification (desirable but not essential);
- Ability and willingness to work on site Monday to Friday, with your own reliable transport — there's plenty of parking, but no public transport to site.
