Procurement Category Specialist (Indirect) – Large Utilities Company

Primary Purpose of the Role:

Manage a portfolio of indirect procurement categories, including Property, Facilities and Fleet, delivering end-to-end procurement activities that drive commercial value, minimise risk and support business objectives. This role is responsible for category strategy, sourcing, tendering, contract management and supplier performance across corporate spend categories.

Key Accountabilities

- Manage a portfolio of indirect procurement categories, including Property, Facilities and Fleet, from strategy through to contract management.
- Develop and implement category strategies that deliver value, reduce risk and optimise total cost of ownership.
- Deliver end-to-end procurement activities including spend analysis, sourcing strategy, market engagement, tender management, evaluation, negotiation and contract award.
- Build strong relationships with business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver fit-for-purpose procurement solutions.
- Lead open and closed tender processes in accordance with procurement governance and policies.
- Manage supplier implementation,



contract administration and ongoing vendor performance.
- Analyse spend and supplier data to identify opportunities for cost savings, innovation and continuous improvement.
- Drive commercial outcomes while balancing cost, quality, risk and service delivery.

Essential Requirements

- 5+ years' experience managing indirect procurement categories, including Property, Facilities and Fleet.
- Demonstrated end-to-end procurement and category management experience.
- Robust knowledge of sourcing, tendering, commercial negotiations and contract management.
- Experience developing category strategies and managing supplier relationships.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience using procurement systems such as SAP or similar.
- Hands-on, proactive and outcome-focused approach.

Desirable

- Experience managing Property, Facilities and Fleet procurement categories within a large or complex organisation.
- Experience within utilities, infrastructure or other complex corporate environments.
- Relevant qualification in Procurement, Supply Chain, Business or a related discipline.
