Centre Director | Boutique Early Learning Centre | South Sydney
Up to $120,000 + super | 4 or 5 days | Established team | Supportive owner
Are you an experienced Centre Director who genuinely enjoys leading people?
We are partnering with a well-established, boutique early learning service in Southern Sydney to find a Centre Director to lead a small, settled centre with a strong team and excellent foundations already in place.
This isn't a turnaround role. The centre is at full occupancy, has an experienced team and a positive culture. You'll also work closely with a supportive and hands-on Approved Provider who remains involved in the service.
The educational side of the centre is well supported by an experienced ECT and Educational Leader, allowing the incoming Director to focus on where they can make the biggest impact: leading, supporting and developing the team.
The prospect This would suit a Director who enjoys the people side of leadership. You'll be trusted to manage the day-to-day running of the service, build strong relationships with educators and families, and continue developing an already positive team culture.
The Approved Provider remains closely involved and provides strong support around compliance and regulatory requirements, so you won't be left to manage everything alone.
There is also genuine flexibility around working arrangements. While a five-day week is available, the service is open to considering an experienced candidate looking for a four-day working week.
What's on offer?
- Salary of up to $120,000 + super, depending on experience
- Opportunity to work four or five days per week
- Small,
boutique early learning environment
- Established service operating at full occupancy
- Stable and experienced team already in place
- Strong Educational Leader and ECT support
- Supportive, engaged Approved Provider
- Genuine autonomy without being left unsupported
- Ongoing professional development
- An established, family-owned environment with a strong connection to the Sutherland Shire
- A role where you can focus on leadership rather than having to rebuild a struggling service
About you We're particularly interested in speaking with candidates who are strong people leaders.
You may already be an experienced Centre Director/Nominated Supervisor, or you could be a high-performing Assistant Director ready to take the next step.
You'll ideally bring:
- Previous leadership experience within an early childhood service
- Confidence managing, mentoring and developing educators
- The ability to navigate difficult conversations and resolve team conflict constructively
- A track record of building positive, accountable team cultures
- Strong relationships with children, families and educators
- Good working knowledge of the NQF, NQS, EYLF and relevant regulations
- An ACECQA-approved early childhood qualification
- Current NSW Working with Children Check
You don't necessarily need to be the strongest Educational Leader in the room. There is already excellent pedagogical leadership within the service.
What we're looking for is someone who knows how to lead people.
If you're looking for a Director position where you can step into an established centre, work alongside a supportive owner and experienced team, and have genuine flexibility and autonomy, we'd love to hear from you.
Thinking about a move in 2027?
You don't necessarily need to leave your current centre immediately. If you're planning to finish the year with your current team and make a move in January, I'd still be very happy to speak with you now.
