Northern Health are seeking applications from dynamic, motivated and suitably experienced Advanced Practice Physiotherapists to join the Virtual Emergency Department, Virtual Specialist Consult service and the Physiotherapy Department.
Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourne's rapidly growing outer north.
Services are provided through our six main campuses:
Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn and Mernda Community Hospitals and Kilmore District Hospital. In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park, Mernda and Coburg.
About the Role:
The Advanced Practice Physiotherapist (APP) is an established and creative role within the Virtual Emergency Department (VED) and Virtual Specialist Consults (VSC). This role is designed to deliver accessible, timely, and high-quality emergency care to patients via virtual consultations, alongside VED medical and nursing colleagues.
The APP will autonomously assess and manage a range of musculoskeletal complaints, and coordinate care with other healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive patient management. The ideal candidate will have significant clinical experience working as an APP in the Emergency Department (ED),
and demonstrated knowledge and experience in managing of a diverse range of spinal complaints and peripheral conditions. In addition to clinical responsibilities, the APP may be engaged in service planning and development as well as the clinical supervision of APP's as appropriate.

Increasing community demand necessitates that these roles are rostered into the evening. Similarly, weekend and public holidays shifts are rostered to support consistent service provision, and the ability to do so is a pre-requisite for employment in this role.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Extensive clinical expertise in Emergency Department Advanced Practice Physiotherapy
- Experience in high level leadership, negotiation and interpersonal skills
- High level of skill in the service development, and evaluation
- Possess highly developed self-management skills including the ability to meet timelines and prioritise competing demands
- Ability to work in a time pressured environment
- Experience in stakeholder engagement and relationship management
