We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Automotive Financial Controller to join our leadership team in Tamworth. This is an exceptional opportunity for a qualified accountant looking to advance their career into a Financial Controller leadership position, or if you are an experienced Financial Controller and seeking a new challenge.

Reporting directly to the Dealer Principal, with additional reporting responsibilities to Servco Australia, you will play a key role in ensuring financial compliance, driving business performance, and supporting the continued growth of our dealership group.

Based at our Tamworth hub, you will lead and mentor a highly experienced administration team while partnering closely with department managers to deliver strong commercial outcomes.

About the Role

As an Automotive Financial Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing all financial and administrative operations across the dealership group, ensuring accurate reporting and strategic business support.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and manage annual budgets and forecasts, including performance targets and timelines

- Monitor dealership performance, analyse financial results, and implement action plans to address variances

- Prepare and oversee monthly financial reporting to manufacturers and Servco Australia

- Ensure balance sheet reconciliations and account provisions comply with company policies

- Oversee payroll processing and ensure accurate, timely payment of employee entitlements





- Monitor and control dealership expenses in accordance with Servco policies and procedures

- Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes to maintain healthy cash flow

- Ensure compliance with internal audit requirements and financial controls

- Coordinate external audit requirements and assist with statutory reporting and tax obligations

- Maintain Daily Operating Control reports and weekly management reporting

- Manage general insurance claims, renewals, workers compensation claims, and policy administration

- Ensure manufacturer, distributor, and finance company claims and entitlements are accurately processed

- Partner with department managers to support budgeting, performance analysis, and business improvement initiatives

- Contribute actively to monthly management meetings and strategic decision-making

- Build and maintain strong relationships with manufacturers, financial institutions, auditors, and key external stakeholders

- Lead, develop, coach, and mentor the administration team

- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and operational efficiencies across the business

Skills and Experience

- CPA or CA qualification, or currently undertaking CPA/CA studies (or willing to commence)

- Previous experience as a Financial Controller, Senior Accountant, Assistant Accountant, or similar finance leadership role looking for growth as a Financial Controller

- Automotive or dealership experience highly regarded but not essential for candidates with solid commercial accounting experience

- Demonstrated experience preparing financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and management reports

- Previous experience leading, mentoring, or supervising staff

- Strong understanding of financial controls, compliance, and accounting best practices

- Experience with Dealership Management Systems (TUNE preferred)

- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel

- Robust analytical, problem-solving, and commercial acumen

- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills

- Ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining high levels of accuracy
