We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Operations Manager to oversee the daily operations of our wholesale business. Reporting directly to Managing Director, you will play a key role in ensuring the efficient movement of stock, maintaining quality standards, managing staff, and supporting the continued growth of the business.

This position requires a proactive leader who thrives in a fast-moving environment and can effectively manage multiple operational functions while maintaining a strong focus on customer service, safety, and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage daily operational activities across warehousing, distribution, and market floor operations.

- Prepare and manage employee rosters to ensure appropriate staffing levels.

- Lead and support warehouse, market floor, and delivery staff.

- Manage HR-related activities including onboarding, performance management, and employee development.

- Oversee purchasing and control of operational consumables and supplies.

- Coordinate CHEP pallet and pallet inventory management.

- Ensure stock is received, stored, handled, and dispatched efficiently and accurately.





- Maintain product quality standards and oversee quality assurance processes.

- Monitor workplace health and safety compliance and promote a safe working environment.

- Identify and implement operational improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs.

Essential Requirements

- Current Forklift Licence.

- Previous experience in operations, warehouse, logistics, or produce industry management.

- Strong leadership and people management skills.

- Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities.

- Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings and weekends as required within a market workplace.

- Strong understanding of inventory control and stock management.

- Sound computer skills and experience using inventory or warehouse management systems.

- Commitment to quality, customer service, and workplace safety.

Desirable Requirements

- Current HR (Heavy Rigid) Licence.

- Experience within the fresh produce, wholesale, or food distribution sectors.

- Knowledge of Brisbane Markets operations and the fresh produce supply chain.

Experience managing CHEP pallets and transport logistics
