As the In-House CAD Designer, you will be responsible for managing the CAD production workflow for bespoke jewellery pieces at BUNDA. You will collaborate closely with our senior sales designers to translate client-approved designs into accurate technical models while directly overseeing prototype printing, castable wax production, and laser engraving.
Key responsibilities
- CAD Modeling: Create detailed, technically sound 3D CAD models for custom and bespoke fine jewellery pieces based on design briefs from the sales team.
- Manufacturing Knowledge: Apply a deep understanding of jewellery manufacturing techniques—including handmade fabrication, casting, cast clean & assembly, gemstone setting, and polishing—to ensure models are fully optimized for production.
- 3D Printing & Maintenance: Manage, operate, and maintain both filament and resin 3D printers to produce high-quality client prototypes and castable models.
- Laser Engraving: Operate the in-house Electro Laser engraver for custom engravings, hallmarks,
and detail work.
- Team Collaboration: Work seamlessly with the sales and design team to refine concepts, ensure correct tolerances, and meet production deadlines.
About you
- Proven experience as a CAD Designer within the fine jewellery industry (RhinoGold, MatrixGold, or similar).
- In-depth understanding of the end-to-end jewellery manufacturing process.
- Hands-on experience operating and troubleshooting resin and filament 3D printers.
- Ability to operate In-House Laser Engraver (or strong technical aptitude to learn in-house setup).
- Strong attention to detail, spatial awareness, and acute design aesthetic consistent with luxury fine jewellery.
- Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented working style.
