We manage 6km of Foreshore in Blairgowrie and Rye, including management of flora and fauna, campgrounds, boatsheds and community engagement activities.

We are seeking someone to join our small, supportive team who can work autonomously and has an interest in the foreshore environment. As a public-facing entity, our customer service needs to be exceptional and it is expected that the applicant has strong skills in this area.

The ability to grow with this role is enormous, with opportunities for autonomous projects and upskilling in many different areas.

Employment Detail:

- Casual Position paid at level 3 under the Miscellaneous Award.

- At present, full-time hours are available from now until May 2027, with immediate start.

- Requires some weekends and potential public holiday hours.

- May lead to further, long-term employment opportunities.

Purpose of role:

The purpose of this role is to support the Foreshore Rangers carry out on-ground works as required to ensure routine maintenance and upgrades of campgrounds, the baytrail and public spaces. The incumbent is to also assist in implementing the organisation’s vegetation management strategy. Occasionally, the role also focuses on actions to implement the Coastal Management Plan as directed by the Foreshore Manager.

Main duties and responsibilities:

- Monitor and ensure high-level presentation of allocated Campgrounds, Public spaces and Baytrail through routine maintenance activity. Including Mowing and Brush cutting, vegetation trimming, rubbish collection, mulching, road/track repair and chemical spraying.

- Complete works to improve reserve infrastructure in line with Coastal Management Plan actions.

- Undertake general maintenance tasks including water asset repairs, timber asset repairs and tool/plant maintenance.





- Deliver high-quality customer service to all stakeholders of the reserve by providing information, direction, and encouragement.

- Ensure adherence to camping rules and conditions by providing assistance and a supportive role within the reserve.

- Support camping operations by processing online bookings, maintaining related signage, inspecting facility cleaning services, monitoring illegal camping and any other related operations as directed by the Foreshore Manager.

- Undertake works in line with the annual vegetation management program as directed by the Foreshore Manager.

- Maintain plant and equipment.

Qualifications, licences permits

- Certificate IV Conservation and Land Management (Desirable)

- Agricultural Chemical Users Permit (ACUP) (Desirable)

- Operate and Maintain Chainsaws

- First Aid (Level II)

- Current Australian driving licence with a good driving record (essential).

- Current Working with Children Check (essential).

- National Police Check (essential)

Experience

- Grounds maintenance experience. Competent with Zero-Turn Mowers, brush cutters, hedge trimmers etc.

- Proficient with a broad range of power tools.

- Application of herbicides to treat weed infestations.

- Customer service experience.

- Experience working autonomously.

- Compliance experience (desirable).

Knowledge

- Local flora and fauna Identification (desirable)

- Invasive plant species control program implementation (desirable)

- Newbook Property Management System (desirable).

This role does involve weekend work during the summer camping season on a roster basis - approximately one to two weekends per month.
