TerryWhite Chemmart Upper Kedron is looking for an enthusiastic Pharmacist Intern / Pre-Registration Pharmacist to join our busy, modern community pharmacy in early 2027. You'll work alongside two experienced full-scope pharmacists who are passionate about developing the next generation of pharmacists. This isn't an internship where you'll simply be another person on the roster. We want to help you become an exceptional pharmacist.
Key responsibilities
- Dispensing and medicines management – develop safe, efficient dispensing practices while learning how experienced pharmacists approach clinical and medication-related problems
- Patient counselling and consultations – build confidence communicating with patients and explaining medicines and health information clearly
- Full-scope pharmacy practice – work alongside pharmacists practising at an expanded scope and see the evolving role of community pharmacy firsthand
- Specialised compounding – gain exposure to an area of pharmacy practice that many graduates don't experience during their internship
- Clinical judgement and medication safety – learn how to identify risk, assess situations and make safe, considered professional decisions
- OTC and minor ailment consultations – develop your questioning, assessment, recommendation and referral skills
- Communication and difficult conversations – build the confidence to manage challenging situations professionally while providing excellent patient care
- Leadership and teamwork – learn to communicate clearly, take ownership and become a pharmacist your colleagues can rely upon
About you
- Completing or recently completed an accredited Australian Pharmacy degree and are already an Australian resident (you must have the right to live and work in Australia to apply for this job, no visa sponsorship is available for this position)
- Eligible for provisional pharmacist registration and an approved internship pathway
- Passionate about community pharmacy and patient care
- Eager to learn and comfortable asking questions
- Professional, reliable and organised
- Friendly and confident communicating with patients
- Interested in contemporary pharmacy practice
- Comfortable working in a busy pharmacy environment
- Receptive to coaching and feedback
- Committed to medication and patient safety
- A genuine team player
- Previous community pharmacy experience is an advantage, but attitude, curiosity, work ethic and willingness to learn are more significant
