Role Description The Accounting Assistant is a full-time, on-site role based in Melbourne, VIC. This position supports day-to-day accounting operations, including data entry, processing invoices, reconciling accounts, and maintaining accurate financial records.

The Accounting

Assistant will assist with bookkeeping tasks, preparation of financial statements, and use of accounting software to ensure compliance and timely reporting. The role also includes supporting tax preparation activities,



coordinating with senior accountants, responding to client queries, and contributing to the overall efficiency of the accounting team.

Qualifications

- Strong knowledge of Accounting and Finance principles, with the ability to apply them in day-to-day operations.
- Practical experience with Bookkeeping and preparation or support of Financial Statements.
- Proficiency in Accounting Software (e.g., Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks or similar) and solid spreadsheet skills.
- Excellent attention to detail, accuracy in data entry, and robust organizational and time management skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in an on-site team environment.
- Certificate or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; prior experience in a public practice or tax/accounting firm is advantageous.
- Demonstrated commitment to confidentiality, ethical conduct, and continuous learning in accounting and taxation practices.
