The Role:The Banking Services Trainee supports the delivery of banking services to Australian Government customers while undertaking a structured traineeship program.

The role provides practical experience in banking operations, customer service and administration. The trainee develops knowledge, skills and capabilities through a combination of workplace learning, formal training and on-the-job coaching.

Key Accountabilities

Banking Operations- Assist with the processing of banking transactions and operational activities.

- Learn and apply banking procedures, policies and systems.
- Support the maintenance of accurate records and documentation.
- Assist with reconciliations and routine reporting activities. Customer Service- Respond to customer enquiries in a qualified and timely manner.

- Escalate customer issues to appropriate team members when required.
- Develop an understanding of customer service standards and expectations.



Administration and Team Support- Provide administrative support to the branch as required.

- Contribute to the efficient operation of the team.
- Participate in team meetings and workplace activities. Learning and Development- Complete all requirements of the traineeship qualification.

- Actively participate in coaching, training and development activities.
- Apply learning from formal training in the workplace.
- Demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement and personal development. This role is targeted for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander candidates only.
