About the role

Zebra Lounge is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Barista Bar Person to join our dynamic team. This is a casual position based in Pyrmont, NSW 2009, offering flexible working arrangements perfect for those seeking part-time or casual employment. You will be at the heart of our hospitality operation, delivering exceptional service and crafting quality beverages for our valued customers.

This role is essential to creating memorable experiences and maintaining the high standards Zebra Lounge is known for.

What you'll be doing

- Preparing and serving a variety of hot and cold beverages, including espresso-based coffees, speciality drinks and cocktails
- Operating and maintaining espresso machines, coffee equipment and bar tools with precision and care
- Taking customer orders efficiently and accurately, with a focus on providing personalised recommendations
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene across the bar area, espresso station and beverage preparation zones
- Managing stock levels of coffee beans, spirits, mixers and other beverage ingredients
- Processing payments and operating point-of-sale systems
- Providing exceptional customer service and engaging with guests in a friendly and professional manner
- Following health and safety regulations and responsible service of alcohol guidelines
- Assisting with opening and closing duties as required

What we're looking for

- Proven experience working as a barista or in a bar environment, ideally in a fast-paced hospitality setting
- Strong knowledge of espresso-based coffee preparation and latte art techniques
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to build rapport with guests
- Sound understanding of cocktail preparation and mixology, or willingness to develop these skills
- Proficiency with point-of-sale systems and cash handling




- Ability to work efficiently under pressure whilst maintaining quality standards
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and hygiene
- Current RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol) certification or willingness to obtain it
- Flexible approach to scheduling and ability to work evenings, weekends and public holidays as required
- Positive attitude, teamwork mentality and a passion for hospitality
