Job Tilte: Utility Billing functional Consultant

Years of experience: 10+ years

Location: Perth

Key skills:

Deep retail utility billing expertise, supported by at least 10 years of relevant experience in energy or utility retail operations, billing assurance, tariff management or billing transformation.

- Strong knowledge of retail energy and utilities environment, including local billing practices, customer obligations, market arrangements and compliance considerations.
- End-to-end understanding of retail customer billing operating models and lifecycle processes, from customer and meter setup through billing, invoicing, adjustments, payments, reconciliation and exceptions.
- Hands-on understanding of how retail billing is initiated, including customer onboarding, account and service-point establishment, meter and register setup, meter data, consumption, billing determinants and bill generation.
- Strong knowledge of billing cycles, tariffs, pricing structures, charging mechanisms, concessions or rebates where applicable, fees, taxes and other bill components.




- Understanding of customer movements and service events that affect billing, including connections, disconnections, moves, transfers, meter exchanges, register changes and account closure.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in utility retail billing, customer operations, revenue operations, billing assurance, tariff management or billing transformation.
- Demonstrated experience supporting a retail transformation, billing platform replacement, customer system implementation or major billing process change.
- Experience within an Australian utility retail environment is essential; direct retail utility experience is strongly preferred.
- Experience working with government-owned utilities or regulated customer service environments is highly desirable.
- Practical experience collaborating with business operations, regulatory, finance, testing, product vendor and delivery teams.
