Boarding House Supervisor
Reports to: Head of Boarding
Start date: ASAP
Role type: Temp full-time including weekends (Term time only – 38 hours per week)
Role summary:
St Scholastica’s College Boarding House Supervisors work closely with all the Boarding House staff to ensure all students experience a safe, supportive and homely environment.
We are looking for a compassionate and collaborative individual with a genuine interest in student wellbeing to join our residential boarding team. This is a excellent opportunity to join a passionate and dedicated team, where care, integrity, and student wellbeing and development is at the heart of everything we do.
The remuneration package includes the provision of accommodation and meals during term time. The position requires flexibility to work late nights, evenings and weekends.
The successful candidate will possess the following core competencies:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive and supportive relationships within the boarding community.
- The ability to be an outstanding role model, demonstrating a positive attitude, professionalism, initiative, integrity, reliability, and a nurturing approach.
- A demonstrated commitment to maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information with discretion.
- High levels of emotional intelligence, resilience, and a positive outlook.
- The ability to deliver discipline respectfully, fairly, and consistently, in accordance with Boarding School policies, College expectations, and the College's values and ethos.
- Strong empathy, compassion,
and pastoral care skills.
- A sound understanding of active supervision, student wellbeing, and duty of care responsibilities.
- A willingness to actively support and promote the Catholic ethos and mission of the College.
- A commitment to child safety and wellbeing, with a willingness to contribute to the ongoing implementation of the College's Child Safe Program and compliance with Child Safe Standards.
Qualifications and Training: The successful candidate will demonstrate the following qualifications and experience:
- Experience working with adolescents in a residential, educational, boarding or youth setting
- Current First Aid certificate
- Current unrestricted Driver’s Licence
- Willingness to undertake the ABSA Duty of Care Course
- Previous boarding experience will be highly regarded
- A medium-rigid bus licence is desirable.
