Salary: $61,808 + superannuation + regional allowance if based regionally.

The Role

Launch your career with Southern Ports as a Business Administration Trainee and gain valuable hands-on experience while completing a Certificate III or IV in Business Administration. Working alongside a supportive and experienced team, you'll build practical skills across administration, customer service, communications, calendar management, records management, and event coordination,



while contributing to the day-to-day operations of one of Western Australia's leading port authorities.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

- Provide professional reception and customer service support, including greeting visitors, answering enquiries, and managing incoming calls.
- Deliver day-to-day administrative support, including diary management, document preparation, correspondence, and records administration.
- Coordinate incoming and outgoing mail, process invoices and requisitions, and maintain office supplies.
- Support visitors by arranging site access, security clearances, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Assist with the planning and coordination of Southern Ports meetings, functions, and events.
- Provide administrative support across the Esperance team and contribute to projects and other duties as required.

Required

- Completion of Year 10
- Excellent communication
- Good organisational skills
- Good time management skills
- Willingness to listen and learn
- Willingness to undertake formal studies

Preferred

- Completion of Year 12
- Working toward a Business Admin qualification
- Familiarity with MS Office package

The successful applicant must

· Have a current Western Australian driver’s licence or working towards one

· Be able to obtain and maintain a Maritime Security Identification Card

· Pass a pre-employment medical assessment including drug and alcohol testing

· Provide a National Police Certificate that is within a 6-month period.
