Role Description The Business Analyst (Entry / Junior) will support LCAM-FSA in optimizing research operations and administrative processes through data-driven insights and structured business analysis. Day-to-day tasks include gathering and documenting business requirements, mapping and improving laboratory and administrative workflows, and assisting in the development of reports and dashboards to track project performance and resource utilization. The role involves collaborating with scientific and administrative teams to clarify needs, translate them into actionable process documentation, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

This is a part-time hybrid role based in Sydney, NSW, with a mix of in office work and some work-from-home flexibility.

Qualifications

- Strong analytical skills to interpret data, identify trends, and support evidence-based decision-making.
- Foundational business analysis capabilities, including requirements gathering, documentation, and stakeholder collaboration.




- Ability to understand and model business processes, and contribute to process improvement and workflow optimization.
- Clear and professional communication skills for working with multidisciplinary teams and presenting findings.
- Basic understanding of business requirements management and translating needs into functional specifications.
- Relevant tertiary studies in business, economics, data analytics, science, or a related field (completed or in progress).
- Proficiency with spreadsheets and basic data visualization tools; familiarity with project management or collaboration tools is an advantage.
- Demonstrated attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently under guidance in a hybrid setting.
- Interest in environmental challenges, research environments, or laboratory operations is highly beneficial.
