The Opportunity

This is a newly created role with the opportunity to make a real impact on UEM’s next stage of growth.

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you’ll take the lead on business development, opening new doors, winning new customers, growing key accounts and building a strong pipeline of profitable work.

You’ll also lead our Estimating team, bringing sales and estimating together to turn opportunities into work for our workshop.

This role is about building on solid foundations, strengthening our existing customer relationships while creating new opportunities and driving UEM’s next stage of growth.

What you'll do

- Identify, pursue and win new business across our target industries.
- Grow existing accounts and strengthen long-term customer relationships.
- Build and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified opportunities.
- Meet and exceed agreed sales, revenue, margin and business development KPIs.
- Track sales activity and pipeline performance, providing regular reporting and forecasts to the Managing Director.




- Lead and develop our estimating team.
- Drive opportunities from initial enquiry through to quotation, working closely with estimating and operations to secure profitable work.
- Protect margin and negotiate profitable, sustainable work.
- Identify new customers, markets and opportunities for UEM.
- Represent UEM through customer meetings, site visits, networking and industry events.

What you'll bring

- A proven track record in B2B business development, technical or industrial sales.
- Demonstrated success in meeting or exceeding sales targets and KPIs.
- Experience identifying, pursuing and winning new business.
- Experience in engineering, manufacturing, mining, resources or another technical/industrial environment.
- Strong commercial understanding of pricing, margin and negotiation.
- The confidence to prospect, open doors and create opportunities.
- Strong relationship-building and communication skills.
- Leadership capability and the ability to develop our estimating team.
- Technical aptitude and the ability to understand and confidently sell UEM's capability.
