About Aerlink
Aerlink is a growing Australian airline operating a fleet of ATR42 and ATR72 aircraft on passenger and freight services to regional and remote destinations across the country, the places others can't reach. As our operation expands, we're investing in the people who set and safeguard our cabin standards.
The Role The Cabin Standards Supervisor is a Brisbane-based, salaried leadership position within the Aerlink Training and Checking Organisation, appointed by and reporting to the Head of Training and Checking (HOTAC). It's a rare opportunity to own the cabin standards and training function of an airline, shaping how our cabin crew are trained, checked and developed - while keeping current with rostered flying as an operational Cabin Crew Member / Cabin Supervisor.
You'll supervise our team of Cabin Trainer & Checkers and Emergency Procedures (EP) Instructors, and hold appointments as a Cabin Trainer & Checker, EP Instructor and Human Factors/Non-Technical Skills (HF/NTS) Instructor.
Your responsibilities will include
- Managing cabin training and checking activities in accordance with the Aerlink Exposition, CASR Part 121 and the Part 121 MOS
- Leading, standardising and developing the Cabin Trainer & Checkers and EP Instructors, including selecting and training new instructors and facilitators
- Delivering cabin crew training and checking, EP training and assessment for cabin crew and pilots, and HF/NTS training
- Creating and amending course content, training programs and examinations with the HOTAC
- Maintaining the Aircrew Emergency Procedures Manual, EP training aids and training records to an audit-ready standard
- Planning and rostering courses with the operations team to maintain 100% EP recency compliance for cabin crew and pilots
- Rostered flying duties on our ATR fleet, scheduled to keep you current alongside your training and management responsibilities
The role is Brisbane based,
with travel to ports and training venues as required.
About You
You're an experienced cabin crew skilled and trainer ready to step up and put your stamp on a growing operation. To be considered you'll bring:
- Substantial experience as an operational Cabin Crew Member, including as Cabin Supervisor, in RPT or charter operations
- Qualification as a Cabin Trainer & Checker and EP Instructor, or the experience to be assessed as eligible to gain these approvals with us
- Instructional experience gained through an airline's instructor or trainer development program
- Sound working knowledge of CASR Part 121 and the Part 121 MOS as they apply to cabin crew training and checking
- Demonstrated ability to lead, standardise and develop a small instructor team
- Strong skills in planning, delivering and assessing training, and maintaining compliant records and controlled documents
- The ability to meet the requirements of the flying role (medical/fitness standards, ASIC, DAMP, Senior First Aid and CPR)
Nice to Have We'd also love to see (but don't require): HF/NTS instruction or facilitation experience, previous training leadership experience within a Part 121 or Part 135 training and checking organisation, a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, or ATR42/72 or FIFO charter experience, and familiarity with electronic document management and training records systems such as Web Manuals. No ATR time? No problem - full conversion training is provided.
What We Offer
- Highly competitive remuneration position
- Genuine ownership of a function, reporting directly to the HOTAC
- Instructor development and type training provided, with a pathway to broader training and checking approvals
- A growing fleet and network and the career headroom that comes with it
- Brisbane base, with travel that keeps the role interesting.
