About the Dental Receptionist job

The primary focus of this role is Dental Reception & Patient Support , with occasional assistance in sterilisation and clinical tasks as needed.

- Welcome patients with a friendly, professional attitude to create a positive first impression
- Handle incoming calls, emails, and general enquiries promptly and courteously
- Manage the appointment book, including scheduling, confirming, and adjusting bookings
- Process payments, health fund claims, and patient information with accuracy and attention to detail
- Uphold privacy standards and help keep front office operations running smoothly
- Work closely with clinicians and dental assistants to keep the daily schedule flowing
- Assist with instrument cleaning, packaging, and sterilisation following clinic protocols
- Maintain accurate sterilisation records and support compliance with infection-control standards
- Prepare treatment rooms and ensure equipment is clean, stocked,



and ready for use
- Provide basic chair side help when needed, with a willingness to learn and support the clinical team

About You

We’re looking for someone who is enthusiastic, reliable, and eager to be part of a close-knit team. The ideal candidate will have:

- Ideally 1 year of experience in dental reception, though this is not essential
- Background in dental assisting or clinical support is highly regarded
- Strong understanding — or the ability to quickly learn — sterilisation and infection-control procedures
- Confident using practice management software, particularly Dental4Web
- Excellent communication skills with a warm, patient-focused approach
- Well-organised, detail-oriented, and dependable with daily responsibilities
- Able to juggle tasks and stay calm during busy periods
- Supportive, professional, and someone who enjoys working as part of a team
- Either must be an Australian citizen, a Recent Zealand citizen, a permanent resident, or hold a valid visa allowing work in Australia
